Our Team
Veterinarians
Dr. Susan Sallee graduated with honors from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1988. She has been practicing companion animal medicine (including pocket pets, rabbits, and some reptiles) here at Grayslake Animal Hospital since then. Dr. Sallee was also a consultant with the Abbott Animal Health Division for over two decades and has been published in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association. Over the years her companions have included hamsters, rabbits, turtles, snakes, dogs, cats, and horses. She currently shares her life with one husband, a bunch of fish, two dogs, and two horses. During her free time she enjoys outdoor activities like camping, kayaking, sailing, gardening, and horseback riding. Susan is also an avid reader.
Dr. Harte joined Grayslake Animal Hospital in June 1999 after finishing his bachelor and veterinary degrees from Iowa State University. Over the years he has enjoyed mentoring many students interested in veterinary medicine. Several of these students have gone on to become veterinarians as well. He has a standard poodle, one cat and two horses. He enjoys spending his free time with his beautiful wife and two lovely daughters.
Dr. Marion is a 2004 graduate of Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He completed his undergraduate degree at Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts in 2000. He enjoys time spent with his wife and two children, as well as their Dogue de Bordeaux, one cat, seven ducks, one hamster, numerous fish, and thousands of honey bees.
Dr. Jackson, recently retired from clinical practice at the hospital, is a 1976 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. He has practiced only at Grayslake Animal Hospital and had been one of the practice owners for over 25 years. While still maintaining a presence in the business management of the hospital, he will be pursuing other interests such as golf and hiking all of the 14′ers in Colorado.
Dr. Lamberty graduated with honors from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993 and immediately began working at Grayslake Animal Hospital. She liked it and decided to stay. Her interests include internal medicine and the challenges of treating diabetic patients. Although currently employed part-time, Dr. Lamberty brings full-time enthusiasm to her work. She shares her life with her husband, beautiful daughters, and her pets. In her free time she regularly enjoys serving in her church and community, photography, scrapbooking, running, biking, reading, and scuba diving whenever she has the opportunity.
Upon graduation from Oklahoma State University in May of 1998, Dr. Nieze began her career as a veterinarian in Miami, OK at the same small animal hospital she worked at throughout high school and college. She married in 2000 and relocated to northern Illinois starting at Grayslake Animal Hospital in July 2000. One of her favorite aspects of being a veterinarian is the relationships she develops with pets and their families. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband Jeff and their three children.
Technicians
Lindsey is our first technician to have pursued continuing education on the scientific/clinical topic of Behavior to become Certified in Low-Stress Handling. Her studies focused on handling techniques that can decrease stress on the pet and make coming to the vet a more positive experience.
She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Ball State University and is currently working to earn her Associates in Veterinary Technology from San Juan College to become a Certified Veterinary Technician.
A native of Grayslake, Megan shares her home with her nine year-old Eclectus Parrot, Ozzy, who enjoys chirping along to movies. Megan fills her free time with studying, pet sitting, and visiting her cat, Murray, who resides with her mother. She also has always loved to travel, and has lived in Singapore, and also visited Australia, southeast Asia, Africa, Japan, and Paris.
